Let’s Talk is back for Semester 2 2012!
Below are some of the topics and activities we have planned.
Week 1: Welcome Back BBQ – free for Members! Wed 25/7 from 12-2pm, South Lawn
Week 2: Launch of Let’s Talk for the semester! Icebreakers, introductory games, music, and snacks! Tue 31/7 from 12-2pm, Joe Nap A (2nd floor union house)
Week 3: Introduce Melbourne: which places do you like best in Melbourne (to eat, go out with friends…)? Places around uni and student services
Week 4: Introduce your culture: festivals, celebrations, places of interest in your country… What do you know about Australia? (Aussie chatterboxes: Introduce Australia and some of its history etc.) Multi-choice quiz about Australia: Interesting facts
Week 5: Bring a plate (share food…) – What’s your country’s traditional food? Do you eat it on special occasions?
Week 6: Music – Australian, international, traditional, modern – What are your favourite genres, artists and songs?
Week 7: Dating culture, share the difference in dating and marriage ritual from different countries.
Week 8: Debating…
Be there! Meetings are on Tuesday and Wednesday at 1pm, usually on the 2nd floor of union house.
